About Joi
I’ve spent my career working alongside organizations committed to serving youth, families, and communities. Across roles, cities, and sectors, one thing has remained consistent: meaningful impact is strongest when people, partnerships, and processes are aligned—and when volunteers are supported by systems that allow them to contribute fully and sustainably.
My work is grounded in the belief that connection, clarity, and follow-through are essential to lasting change.
Over the past two decades, I’ve worked within education, youth development, and community-based organizations in Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta. I’ve partnered with organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles, the NYC Department of Education, the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, and Junior Achievement of Georgia—experiences that have shaped my understanding of how volunteer engagement and partnerships function at scale.
Currently, I serve as the Director of Volunteer Partnerships and Experience at Junior Achievement of Georgia, where I work closely with corporate and community partners to design experiences that give students real-world exposure and support beyond the classroom.
Growing up in a military family, I moved frequently and experienced a wide range of communities, school systems, and environments. Those early experiences strengthened my ability to adapt, listen, and build relationships across difference—skills that continue to inform how I approach partnership-building and organizational work today.
My academic background in Psychology, Child Development, and School Counseling further deepened my understanding of how systems, relationships, and environments shape outcomes—particularly for young people.
In my consulting work, I partner with organizations that rely on volunteers and external partners to deliver their mission. My approach is practical and collaborative, focused on helping teams move from ad-hoc engagement to clear, repeatable systems that are aligned with their goals and capacity.
I value clarity over complexity, sustainability over quick fixes, and solutions that teams can own long after an engagement ends.
Beyond my professional work, I remain deeply connected to community service through board leadership, civic involvement, and volunteerism. I’m also a creative at heart and the founder of LoveJoi Candle, a small business rooted in the idea of rest, reflection, and sensory escape.
I live in Atlanta with my family and am continually inspired by the ways community, creativity, and service intersect in everyday life.
